Getting to know your asthma is very important. Only by doing this can you feel confident and in control of your condition, rather than the other way round! One of the best ways you can achieve this is to spend some time monitoring your asthma at home.

The benefits of monitoring your asthma at home are far reaching; it can help you remain as well as possible on the minimum medication, prevent you from having a bad asthma attack, aid your doctor in assessing you and also help you to identify those elusive triggers which make your asthma worse! What you monitor will depend to some extent on your individual asthma and situation. Recording can be done using either a simple diary card or the Asthma Assistant Application. The information you generate provides an excellent record of your individual asthma. This can form a focal point for communication between you and your doctor or nurse who can help you interpret the information.
